Prime Minister Imran Khan pays tribute to Allama Iqbal

Prime Minister Imran Khan on his 143rd birth anniversary has paid homage to the national poet and stressed on the need to take guidance from the thoughts of 'Allama Iqbal' for the solution of the problems facing the nation.

The Prime Minister said in a statement that it was now his individual and collective responsibility to explore the thoughts of 'Allama Iqbal' and play his role in nation building.


 He pointed out that 'Allama Iqbal' had decided to guide the Muslims of the subcontinent with his thoughts and poetry at a time when they were trapped in the darkness of slavery in search of their identity.

He added that, with his poetry, 'Allama Iqbal' sought the power to help Muslims overcome their sense of frustration and guide them in achieving the impossible.

Prime Minister Imran further said that Allama Iqbal not only dreamed of Pakistan but also considered the issues facing him after its formation.

"It was because of the foresight of his personality that he predicted many years ago that we would face modern-day problems," he said.

 He said that Iqbal's ideology is still a guiding force for overcoming issues like sectarianism and extremism. With the help of they can get a place in the world.

He appealed to the nation to focus its energy on the transformation of Pakistan under the ideology of its forefathers and stressed the need for reorganization of political, social and economic institutions.
