Ban on indoor marriage in Pakistan

After the hall owners announced their protest against the ban on 'indoor marriages' , the provincial government began working on alternative options before the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC).

The provincial government has formed a team headed by Health Minister Dr. Yasmeen Rashid and is tasked with making recommendations in the next 24 hours, according to Geo News.

The recommendations will be presented to the NCOC at the next meeting.

In its latest report, the NCOC banned indoor weddings and outdoor events for up to 1,000 guests starting November 20.

The guidelines issued by the NCOC last week apply to Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, Hyderabad, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Peshawar, Gujranwala, Quetta, Faisalabad, Gujarat, Bahawalpur and Abbott. Is settled

Marriage hall owners are protesting


Meanwhile, marriage hall owners and workers in Gujranwala protested against the new rules. Addressing a joint press conference, the Marriage Hall Association and the Punjab Caterers Association demanded the government to reverse its decision on marriages under the new COVID-19 SOPs.

"We will keep them open," said Khalid Idrees, signaling that the SOPs would not be followed and warned the protesting government if it did not reverse its decision by November 17.
